He has been a professional photographer and studio owner for over 20 years. His photographs have won numerous National and State photographic awards. Larry holds two National Degrees bestowed by the Professional Photographers of America. In 1985 he earned the Craftsman Degree and in 1990 he earned the highly prestigious Master of Photography Degree.

He served as President of the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association in 1989-1990. He was awarded two Degrees from the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association: The Tennessee Certified Degree and the Tennessee Service Degree.

In 1989 Larry received the Southeastern Award from the eleven state Southeastern Professional Photographers Association. The Award is the highest honor presented on behalf of S.E.P.P.A. and given annually to the one person chosen from the State organization for outstanding service to the profession.

In 1990 Mr. Miller received the National Award which is the highest honor presented to a member of the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association on behalf of the Professional Photographers of America. The award recognizes the outstanding contributions and service given to the profession of photography throughout the recipient's career.

In 1995 Mr. Miller was inducted into the Tennessee Professional Photographers Hall of Fame. This honor is reserved for those Tennessee Professional Photographers whose work has been chosen for contributing to Photography as an art form.

Larry is also a writer. In 1996 one of his stories was published in the #1 New York Times best seller entitled "Chicken Soup For The Soul". It is a true story about one of the many children he has photographed. The title of his story is "An Angel Flew My Way".
