SENIOR PORTRAITS HINTS AND TIPS

What do you wear? Variety is the key. When choosing your outfits, keep in mind that the most important thing is that you like them, but guys, don't bring in six identical t-shirts! Most seniors choose some casual and some dressy outfits. Usually sleeveless or very short sleeves are distracting, but I personally like a few tank tops for girls and a t shirt for guys thrown into the mix.

Guys- For the traditional look that always satisfies your parents, bring a suit or sport coat and tie. Medium to dark sweaters photograph well. For casual and outdoor photos, comfort is the main rule, so bring jeans, a long sleeve shirt, some short sleeve shirts, sweaters, shorts and sweatshirts. Your session can last u\for up to 1-1/2 hours so bring lots of clothes. We might not use them all, but at least we will have something to choose from.

Ladies- Bring the colors and outfits you feel best in. Dresses or formal, sweaters and lace for a more traditional look. We have a nice drape if it is wanted. Casual clothes include bright colors, skirts, jeans, a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve shirts, cut-off jeans, shorts. Many seniors like to bring their bathing suits for us to flatter them in. All White is good for the high key effect. Blonde or light hair looks great with white clothing and white backgrounds.

Shoes- More often than not shoes will not show, but make sure that you have a couple of pair to go with some outfits just in case. Many prefer barefoot poses.

What else can I bring? We want to bring out the real you, so bring your favorite hat, musical instrument, pet, sunglasses, hobby, letter jacket, car, uniform, sports activity (ski out fits and ski's) or ANYTHING else you feel would be the real you. No idea is too crazy. We can even photograph you and your horse in our outdoor area. Bring a boyfriend or girlfriend to join you in some pictures, or just be here for the fun of it!

Hair- Try to have your haircut or perm at least one week before the session to let it fill in a little. Don't try a radically different haircut style and don't cut your hair until after you have seen your previews.
